In the modern age of television, most series are lucky to make it past the first season. In and out they come and go, constantly rotating like a revolving door without leaving much of an impact upon audiences and subsequently fading into history. Others do quite well though, some even still on traditional cable despite the format’s fading relevancy over the past decade which only further highlights how remarkable these series are. While television’s golden era is well in the past, there are still a few hidden gems on cable if you just look hard enough. Now one of them will sadly be ending forever, with the official trailer for the final season of Animal Kingdom being unveiled by TNT this week.
Originally hitting the airwaves in 2016, Animal Kingdom tells the story of a family from Southern California who utilize crime to furnish their expensive lifestyles and the hurdles they face along the way in doing so. Based on the 2010 film of the same name and executive produced by that film’s director David Michôd, the series has been a hit since it first aired and aired 62 episodes in total since it began, but all good things must come to an end. Animal Kingdom is set to air one final thirteen-episode season that is sure to leave even the most fervent of fans pleased in some way, and now TNT has provided the official trailer for the sixth and final season of the series. In it the aforementioned family and their associates are up to their same old tricks but seemingly enduring more resistance than ever before that stands to challenge the integrity of their bond, and it looks like something you won’t want to miss. Fans will just have to remain patient to find out for themselves when the new season of Animal Kingdom airs on TNT on June 19th.
Whether you’re a fan or not, Animal Kingdom has been a hot topic for years now and it will be sad to see the series end. But it seemingly won’t go without a bang, and fans are certainly aware of how far the creative minds behind the series are willing to go.
