After debuting in theaters today, Venom: The Last Dance has received middling reviews from movie and TV critic websites like Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. Unfortunately, the critiques at Rotten Tomatoes were not impressed with the film and gave it a 40% score. Metacritic, on the other hand, has gotten a 42 rating based on 27 reviews. If these totals stick, the movie’s score will be lower than Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The 2021 film earned a 49 out of 100 score from Metacritic.
“In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy,” the logline states. “Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.”
Venom: The Last Dance is based on a script written by Kelly Marcel and Tom Hardy. In addition to Hardy, the film stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham. Marcel, Hardy, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Hutch Parker produced the movie. The third Venom is Marcel’s first directorial debut. She’s written the last two scripts for Venom in the past.
