The first-ever teaser trailer for the MCU’s The Fantastic Four: The First Steps has premiered. While details about the action-packed film remain tightly under wraps, the brief clip hints at the Fantastic Four’s life-changing trip to space, which led to them gaining their powers, similar to the original comic book storyline. The movie is also said to feature the comics’ Future Foundation, which is evident through the teaser’s description. “The Future Foundation invites you to take your first steps into a fantastic new era,” it reads. The teaser shows a group of children running toward a TV in a store window to watch The Fantastic Four launch into space. For attire, the superheroes can be seen wearing white and blue space suits, with another one saying, “Prepare 4 Launch.”
Directed by WandaVision‘s Matt Shakman, The Fantastic Four explores the lives of Mr. Fantastic, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, The Human Torch, The Thing, and the Silver Surfer. It pulls inspiration from the comic book that launched the Marvel Comics universe in 1961. The characters are created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The movie stars Pedro Pascal, Julia Garner, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, to name a few.
The Fantastic Four movies have done exceptionally well to bring Marvel’s iconic superhero family to the big screen. The first live-action adaptation, Fantastic Four (2005) explored the team’s origin story. Two years later (2007), Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer premiered and introduced villains Galactus and the Silver Surfer. After a long hiatus, the 2015 reboot, Fantastic Four tried to change the narrative in a more edgier way, but it was met with mixed reviews. Despite these ups and downs, the Fantastic Four franchise remains a fan fav in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The full-length trailer for The Fantastic Four: The First Steps premieres tomorrow at 7PM EST.
