The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards took place on Sunday, September 14 at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater. Hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, the evening celebrated the best in the tv industry and highlighted some truly standout performances and shows.
One of the night’s biggest winners was The Pitt, which took home the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series. The show also earned Noah Wyle the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, and Katherine LaNasa was named Outstanding Supporting Actress for her role in the same series.



In comedy, The Studio won for Outstanding Comedy Series. Seth Rogen won his first-ever Emmy for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in the show. The series also won awards for its writing and directing. Adolescence was the standout in the limited series category, winning Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Stephen Graham took home the award for Lead Actor, while Cristin Milioti won Lead Actress for her role in The Penguin. Adolescence also saw wins in both supporting acting categories, with Owen Cooper and Erin Doherty earning well-deserved honors.




Several other familiar names made headlines during the show. Barack Obama won his third Emmy for narrating the Netflix documentary Our Oceans. Bryan Cranston took home the Emmy for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in The Studio, beating out acting legends like Ron Howard and Martin Scorsese. Jean Smart was once again recognized for her role in Hacks, and Jeff Hiller of Somebody Somewhere received the award for Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Other major wins included Rebel Ridge for Outstanding Television Movie, Arcane for Best Animated Program, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for Outstanding Talk Series, and The Traitors for Best Reality Competition Program. Alan Cumming, who hosts The Traitors, was also awarded Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program.
Overall, the night featured a mix of heartfelt speeches and exciting wins. From the return of familiar favorites to the rise of new shows and talent, the 2025 Emmy Awards reminded us just how much great television has to offer.
