Netflix has revealed the first look at its new animated Ghostbusters series, Ghostbusters: Night Shift, along with story details and concept art. The story takes place in New York in 1994, five years after the events of Ghostbusters II. A new supernatural threat hits the city, and a group of young New Yorkers must step up to become Ghostbusters. They are inexperienced, overlooked, and partly responsible for the problem, but they must face their fears and save the city.
The show looks very different from previous Ghostbusters projects. The first image shows a huge, fiery ghost holding someone captive while a Ghostbuster tries to fight it using the iconic ghost-hunting gear. You can see the image below.

Netflix, Sony Pictures Animation, and Ghost Corps are making the series. Meanwhile, Flying Bark Productions, the studio behind Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, is handling the animation. The showrunners are Ben Hibbon and Elliott Kalan. Ghostbusters co-creator Dan Aykroyd serves as an executive producer. Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan are also executive producers.
