Prime Video has released the trailer for Mike Flanagan’s upcoming Carrie TV show. The series is based on Stephen King’s famous first novel and has a modern twist.
The show follows Carrie White, a teenager who is bullied at school and discovers that she has powerful supernatural abilities. Summer H. Howell stars as Carrie.
The trailer begins with Carrie going to school for the first time. Since she was homeschooled, she doesn’t know much about the modern school system. Carrie tries to make friends with her classmates, but they make fun of her because she is unfamiliar with many things. Things get even worse after gym class when Carrie gets her first period. As a result, Carrie is mocked by the other students, who record what happens and post it online. The trailer then gives viewers a look at Carrie discovering her telekinetic powers.
Carrie appears to use her abilities against the students who bullied her. She also seems to use her powers when confronting her mother.
Along with Howell, the cast includes Samantha Sloyan, Siena Agudong, Alison Thornton, Joel Oulette, Josie Totah, Arthur Conti, Thalia Dudek, Amber Midthunder, and Matthew Lillard. Michael Trucco, Crystal Balint, Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli, Tim Bagley, and Heather Graham will also appear as guest stars.
Flanagan directed four of the show’s eight episodes and is also serving as showrunner. He is executive producing the series alongside Trevor Macy and Stephen King.
