Jenna Ortega recently discussed her future career plans and whether she’s been approached for major franchises like Marvel.
During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Wednesday star said she hasn’t had many conversations about joining a major franchise. At the time, she was promoting her new movie, Klara and the Sun.
“I actually haven’t had a lot of franchise really conversations,” Ortega told host Josh Horowitz. She also shared her thoughts on how she chooses her projects, saying, “What I’m meant to do will come and find me.”
The actress also revealed that she plans to take a hiatus from the TV scene after Wednesday ends.
“I think after Wednesday, I’ll probably be off the TV for a while,” she said. Ortega explained that she spent much of her childhood moving from one TV show to another and now wants time to try new things.
This isn’t the first time Ortega has stepped away from a major project. She previously left the Scream franchise after appearing in two movies. Earlier this year, she also revealed that she almost quit acting before getting her role in You.
Season 3 of Wednesday finished filming in September 2026 and is expected to premiere in 2027. The new season will feature Winona Ryder, Eva Green, and other returning cast members.

Ortega currently stars alongside Amy Adams in Taika Waititi’s Klara and the Sun. She also has other movies in the works, including Nasty with Rose Byrne and The Great Beyond with Glen Powell and J.J. Abrams.
