AppleTV+ has canceled their series, City on Fire after it ran for only one season. According to Deadline, the network thought the show would do well statistically, but unfortunately, it did not. The show’s cancellation arrived about a month after Season 1 wrapped up in mid-June. It should also be noted that City on Fire is meant to be a drama series rather than a limited series.
City on Fire is based on Garth Risk Hallberg‘s 2015 novel of the same name.
“A college student named Samantha Yeung is shot in Central Park on July 4, 2003,” the synopsis reads. “The investigation connects a series of mysterious citywide fires, the downtown music scene, and a wealthy uptown real estate family fraying under the strain of the many secrets they keep.”
The show stars Chase Sui Wonders, Wyatt Oleff, Jemima Kirke, Nico Tortorella, Ashley Zukerman, Xavier Clyde, Max Milner, Alexandra Doke, Omid Abtahi, Kathleen Munroe, John Cameron Mitchell, Alexander Pineiro, and Michael Tow.
