From album of the year, to being the winner of a Latin Grammy, amongst a plethora of other accolades, Bad Bunny has proven time and time again that he has owned 2020. Now, the Puerto Rican superstar has been cast in action flick Bullet Train, starring Brad Pitt – and yes, you’ve read that right.
Based on Japanese novel Maria Beetle by best-selling author Kōtarō Isaka, the film focuses on a group of hit men with conflicting motives on a train in Tokyo. Brad Pitt is set to play a hit man named Ladybug. The rest of the all-star cast includes Brian Tyree Henry, Joey King, Masi Oka, Zazie Beetz, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, and Andrew Koji. Hobbs & Shaw director David Leitch is set to direct and will supervise the script, which is written by Zak Olkewicz.
With the release of his new album El Último Tour Del Mundo, Bad Bunny earned the first-ever Spanish language No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart! This year alone, el Conejo Malo also dropped album YHLQDMG, made a cameo on Saturday Night Live, and tested positive for COVID-19 (wheew). Talk about eventful? Bullet Train will be his first major film role. While it is unclear who Bad Bunny will be playing, it is guaranteed to blow our minds.
However, the Latin-Trap pioneer is has more good news for us. In addition to his role in Bullet Train, Bad Bunny has also been cast in the upcoming season of Netflix’s Narcos: Mexico.
