Former president Barack Obama has unveiled his eagerly awaited Best of 2024 list, showcasing his top picks for music and movies.
He also shined light on ten films for his followers to watch this year, including several that have yet to be released but are significant contenders for major awards. Among his favorites are All We Imagine as Light, Conclave, The Piano Lesson, The Promised Land, The Seed of the Sacred Fig, Dune: Part Two, Anora, Dìdi, Sugarcane, and A Complete Unknown.
Although the Oscar nominations are still pending, the Golden Globes recently revealed their nominees for the year, featuring 6 nominations for Conclave, 5 for Anora, 3 for A Complete Unknown, 2 for both All We Imagine and Dune: Part Two, to name a few.
In terms of music, Barack’s list showcased a diverse array of songs, including the thought-provoking “Squabble Up” by Kendrick Lamar, the upbeat collaboration “Jump” featuring Tyla, Gunna, and Skillibeng, and Rema’s infectious track “Yayo.”
The list also contains the energetic “Active” from Asake and Travis Scott, as well as Leon Bridges’ soothing ballad “Peaceful Place.” Jack White‘s reflective song “That’s How I’m Feeling,” Artemas’ romantic-striken “I Like The Way You Kiss Me,” along with many other exciting choices made the cut as well.
