A clip from the upcoming Barbie movie reveals what Ken does as a profession. According to the short snippet, the Barbie character, played by Ryan Gosling, oversees the beach. He’s not a lifeguard or surfer but an independent worker. Viewers figure out his job after the doctor heals him from an injury. After assuring Ken that he’ll be okay, she compliments him for being brave at his job on the beach.
The synopsis reads, “To live in Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you’re a Ken.”
