Brent Faiyaz‘s second studio album is doing exceptionally well in the R&B scene. As of today, Wasteland has sprung up to the second spot on the Billboard 200 chart. The project has sold approximately 88,000 equivalent album units thus far. This achievement is the first for Faiyaz! His previous LP, F*ck The World, only took the 20th spot in 2020.
Wasteland was released on July 8th, 2022. The album features Drake, Alicia Keys, The Neptunes, and Tyler, The Creator, to name a few. According to the singer’s interview with Vogue, this particular project was inspired by several notable films.
He said to Vogue,
“I was watching a lot of Tarantino films. I was watching Jackie Brown over and over again. I was also watching Vanilla Sky on repeat. I pulled a lot from that.”
