Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), one of the universe’s most powerful heroes is set to make a return in Captain Marvel 2. But this kick-ass superhero won’t be alone. She will be fighting alongside Monica Rambeau, played by Teyonah Parris, and new superhero Ms. Marvel, played by Iman Vellani.
Not only can we anticipate an action-packed plot, but viewers can also look forward to a courageous group of women who show strength, unity, and above all— resilience. As portrayed in previous Marvel films, they will stop at nothing to seek justice.
In recent years, Marvel has shown its dedication to inclusivity by casting actors from different ethnic backgrounds and genders. This film adds to the lost list of positives with Kamala Khan— a 16 year old Pakistani-American. And Monica, an ambitious Black woman.
The character Monica was introduced in the first Captain Marvel. Paris will make her grown-up debut as the daughter of Carol’s best friend in the new Disney+ series Wandavision.
To add to the list of influential women, Candyman director Nia DaCosta will be making her Marvel directorial debut. It is safe to say we will expect great things, based on her cinematic choices in previous films.
Get ready to see your favorite superhero, Captain Marvel 2 is set to premiere on November 11, 2022.
