Although we have all been rooting for a Meg Thee Stallion ‘Hot Girl Summer’, it seems as if CBS has their own plans as they try and play cupid with their new series, Love Island premiering tonight.
Love Island is an American reality dating series hosted by actress/comedian Arielle Vandenberg. The show is an American adaptation from the British version of the series created back in 2015, which is now airing their fifth season on their network ITV2.
According to CBS:
The matchmaking begins as a group of single “Islanders” come together in a stunning villa on a beautiful tropical island, ready to embark on a summer of dating, romance, and ultimately, relationships. Every few days the Islanders pair up and those who are not coupled are at risk of being dumped from the island. Islanders are on the lookout for romance, but the road to love doesn’t always run smoothly. Challenges abound with intriguing new Islander arrivals and dramatic twists as friendships and relationships form. In addition to choosing their partners wisely, Islanders must also win the hearts of viewers who have the opportunity to shape events on screen and ultimately crown one lucky couple the winner who will then have the chance to walk away with both love and the cash prize.
The villa is located in Fiji and this will be the first ever American experience. The cast members are from all parts of the US, such as, New York, Los Angeles, Connecticut, Texas and more; with different occupational backgrounds as a model, real estate agent, advertiser, student, etc.
Though everyone may have something different about them, they all have one thing in common and that’s looking for love. The question is will they find it or is it all about the money? Make sure you tune in tonight on CBS at 8/7c.
