Deadline reports that the SyFy channel has ordered a “Chucky” horror series to go into effect. The series will be based on the esteemed orange-haired (and very spooky) doll, Chucky. This news follows NBC Universal‘s presentation at the TCA Winter Press Tour in Pasadena, CA. Word is that Don Mancini, David Kirschner, and Channel Zero‘s original illustrator, Nick Antosca, are joining forces to create this spine-chilling catalog.
Chris McCumber, the president of channels, USA Network and SyFy, says, “The character Don and David created has terrified audiences for over 30 years. The longevity and legacy of Chucky speaks to the creative storytelling and the loyal fans the film series has collected over the years. To put it shortly, they are off-the-wall to put the “Chucky” series into effect.
There is no release date as of now. Stay tuned.
