Usually the energetic rapper, Desiigner is all smiles.
But it seems as though his label is causing him agony this time around.
In 2016, Desiigner signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music. Since then, he has released one mixtape and an EP. However, his debut studio album is nowhere to be found.
Earlier this year, Desiigner took his frustration to Instagram in regards to this unfortunate dilemma, claiming that nobody does anything for him, G.O.O.D Music’s C.E.O, Kanye West included.
“I had signed to Kanye West. The biggest n**ga. Y’all n**gas think he’s the genius.” Desiigner says in the video clip “Y’all think that n***a’s shit. But to me, n**ga, that n**ga’s crazy, n**ga. To me, n**ga, I’ve been doing this shit myself.”
Fast forward and Desiigner is still calling out G.O.O.D Music for their unfair ways on Twitter. Last month, he left two Tweets that circulated around the label not being able to shoot his music video.
Both tweets read, “I REALLY BE MAKING THE PLAYS HERE I SWEAR THANKS TO EVERYBODY THAT FUCK WIT ME CAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE FUNNY IN THIS INDUSTRY,” before adding, “I WANT SHOOT MY VIDEO BUT MY LABLE IS TAKING TO LONG.”
Now, Desiigner is very much fed up and just wants to be released from the label. Two days ago, Desiigner tweeted ““FREE ME FROM THIS LABLE,”
According to UPROXX, “..other artists who had similar problems on the label including Big Sean, who eventually “forced” the label to support his debut after an impressive run of self-produced mixtapes, and Consequence, who departed the label after the release of his own debut album.”
