If there is one thing we have all come to learn about DJ Khaled it is that he has an affinity for being tastefully melodramatic. After teasing an upcoming reunion with Drake on Saturday by posing with a real-life owl — a nod to the logo for Drizzy’s OVO Sound label — Khaled took to nature to drop another tease on Monday (July 13).
Draped in his famous animal print shirt (the same one that has gone viral in a meme on Twitter) and strolling through lush vegetation to the sound of birds chirping in the background as ominous music plays, Khaled pauses to salute a lion statue and then locks eyes with an owl and gives it a salute before staring climatically at the camera as the words “2 Keys 2 Anthems DJ Khaled Feat. Drake This Friday” fill the screen.
Now, the mega-producer has finally revealed the names of the upcoming singles, and has even released a snippet of what may potentially be one of the visuals.
Titled, “Popstar,” and “Greece,” we can expect these new records to be the ultimate anthems to conclude our summers as they have done so several times before. The two hip-hop giants came together on the track “I’m on One,” which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2011, and they also teamed up for songs “For Free” and “Fed Up,” which were equally successful.
Stay tuned for what is guaranteed to be some major heat from Dj Khaled and Drake this Friday (July 17) at midnight.
