HBO Music Drama ‘The Idol’ Adds Six New Cast Members

HBO’s music drama, The Idol, has added new actors to its cast list. Deadline adds that six different roles are being filled. 

They’ll join Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Lily-Rose Depp as leading roles, alongside Golden Globe nominee Troye Sivan, Suzanna Son, and Steve Zissis, occurring actors on the show.

Emmy nominee Anne Heche, Melanie Liburd, Tunde Adebimpe, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, and Nico Hiraga (Booksmart) have also made a return to the series. 

The synopsis reads:

“Set against the backdrop of the music industry, the series centers on a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult, who develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol.”
