Disney+’s show Inside Out has officially gotten a release date window. While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Pixar chief creative officer (CCO) Pete Docter revealed that the Inside Out spin-off series will debut on Disney+ in the spring of 2025. He also revealed that the show will be connected to Dream Production, a place where Riley’s dreams are created.
“We have finished. It’s coming out next spring,” Docter stated. “I’m not sure that there’s been a specific release date, but in the first film, remember we go to Dream Production to see how Riley’s dreams are made? It semi-explains why they’re so weird. We’ve continued the exploration of the power of dreams and how they affect us in our waking lives, as well. So it’s pretty cool.”
The new Inside Out spin-off show follows Inside Out 2, which has been booming since debuting in theaters on June 14, 2024. To date, Inside Out 2 has garnered $438.7 million at the global box office off a $200 million budget.
“In the follow-up to 2015’s Oscar-winning Inside Out, Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust—who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts—aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment show up,” the logline for Inside Out 2 reads.
The movie stars Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, Liza Lapira as Disgust, Maya Hawke as Anxiety, Ayo Edebiri as Envy, Adèle Exarchopoulos as Ennui, Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment, Kensington Tallman as Riley, Diane Lane as Mrs. Anderson, Kyle MacLachlan as Mr. Anderson, June Squibb as Nostalgia, Ron Funches as Bloofy, Yvette Nicole Brown as Coach Roberts, and John Ratzenberger as Fritz.
