Actor Skyler Gisondo will play the role of DC Universe’s Jimmy Olsen in the upcoming Superman film, which is set to hit theaters soon. In promotional photos for Superman, Skyler Gisondo was seen taking on the iconic Daily Planet photographer, providing a sneak peek of what to expect. The actor will be the tenth actor to portray Jimmy in live-action Superman and DC-related films and TV shows.
James Gunn also revealed the news about Skyler’s character in Superman through an Instagram post containing a comic-esque picture.
“I can’t wait for you to see @skylergisondo’s portrayal in Superman on July 11, 2025,” the CEO of DC Studios wrote in part of the caption.
Additionally, a new branding for the DC franchise is being developed, as Gunn’s DC Universe plans to replace the old DCEU films. DC has decided to make a strong start by launching the new Superman movie, featuring David Corenswet in the leading role.
The upcoming DC Universe film will be a unique creation in its own right. However, Superman will not adhere to traditional expectations. Instead, the movie will explore Clark Kent’s younger days, showcasing his dual life as both a superhero and a reporter.
This film will be the first time characters like Cat Grant and Ron Troupe are included in a movie, as they have not appeared in previous adaptations. Additionally, Superman will mark the second live-action film to feature Steve Lombard, who was briefly seen in 2013’s Man of Steel.
