James Gunn has been in the process of creating the new film Superman. This is a part of the relaunch for the DC Universe and introduces another side from the protector of Metropolis. Now, Jonathan Kent plays a significant role in Clark Kent’s journey towards the Man of Steel. As DC fans may know, Superman’s adoptive father, Jonathan Kent, found Superman at a young age.
Jonathan and Martha Kent are farmers in Kansas who help Clark Kent understand the importance of responsibility and perseverance. Jonathan’s values and discipline help shape his adoptive son’s commitment to will and justice.
According to Collider, Pruitt Taylor Vince, who’s well known for his roles in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Stranger Things, and Deadwood, will play Superman’s “New Earth” father. Fans are confident the Emmy Award-winning actor Pruitt Taylor will live up to the role since, through his discovery, has played many different roles that require multiple personalities.
In a word, the James Gunn-directed flick won’t focus on Superman’s upbringing since it will start when he is an adult and discovers his superpowers. However, fans will get a chance to see the role his father plays in his daily work.
The cast list includes Pruitt Taylor Vince, David Corenswet (Superman), Rachel Brosnahan (Louis Lane), María Gabriela de Faría (The Engineer), Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern Guy), and much more. Earlier today, it was revealed via Collider that Logan Lucky actress Neva Howell will star alongside Vince as Martha Kent. No other details surrounding the plot have been revealed at this time.
