The trailer for the highly-anticipated movie Jurrasic World: Rebirth has officially premiered. Starring Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey, the fourth Jurassic World is set five years after Jurassic World: Dominion (2022). During this time, the world becomes unsafe for dinosaurs, forcing them to retreat to environments where their ancestors once thrived. The movie centers on a team of scientists and specialists who are on the hunt to collect genetic samples from the three largest dinosaurs in the sea, on land, and in the air. This same genetic material from the dinosaurs could be the solution to creating a drug to save humanity.
The trailer starts with Johansson who plays a covert operations expert named Zora Bennett as she embarks on a top-secret mission with Bailey’s Dr. Henry Loomis to obtain a potential “medical breakthrough that would save countless lives.” However, Zora, Dr. Henry, and Zora’s team leader, Duncan Kincaid (played by Ali), find themselves at risk once they come across the dinosaurs. Along their journey, the trio also bumps into a family (played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and others) whose boating trip takes a twist once they come face-to-face with roving aquatic dinosaurs. Before the trailer ends, Johansson aims a gun at a huge aquatic dinosaur terrorizing the passengers onboard.
“The planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived,” the logline reads. “The three most colossal creatures across land, sea, and air within that tropical biosphere hold, in their DNA, the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”
It continues “When Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinos, they all find themselves stranded on a forbidden island that had once housed an undisclosed research facility for Jurassic Park. There, in a terrain populated by dinosaurs of vastly different species, they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that has been hidden from the world for decades.”
Jurassic World: Rebirth is directed by Gareth Edwards. The movie also stars Rupert Friend, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein. The Jurassic World films are a continuation of the Jurassic Park franchise, set in a world where dinosaurs have been revived through genetic engineering.
