Keke Palmer and SZA are set to on the big screen in an untitled buddy comedy film for Trish Stars Pictures.

The media has revealed that Issa Rae will be one of the film’s producers, alongside other producers such as Sara Diya Rastogi, Macro Film Studios, James Lopez, Poppy Hanks, and ColorCreatives’ Deniese Davis. Although the movie has not been given a title yet, reports suggest that Lawrence Lamont will direct it, while Syreeta Singleton will write the screenplay.
Previously, Lamont and Singleton had collaborated on a movie series called Rap Sht, which depicted two women navigating their way in the music industry as rappers. In 2022, Palmer and SZA teamed up for “Saturday Night Live“, where Palmer served as the host and SZA was the musical guest star.

The project was a result of the collaboration between The CoCre Lab presented by Sony Pictures, which was a partnership aimed at sourcing and nurturing emerging talent. This initiative was instrumental in providing opportunities to develop and write their first studio feature based on original ideas
