At the PEOPLE’s Choice Awards, Kim Kardashian received the Fashion Icon Award. Last year the award was passed off to Tracee Ellis Ross. Kardashian is recognized for her reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashian, daring fashion pieces, and clothing line SKIMS.
“To receive the award from the fashion icon herself,” Kardashian said about Ellis. “I am so honored. Thank you.”
Elsewhere in her speech, she also gave her estranged husband credit for giving her more knowledge about the fashion world.
“To Kanye for really introducing me to the fashion world. I fell in love with fashion, and I’m so inspired by so many people, but again, this is like a dream that I get to wake up and wear these amazing clothes and try new things and take a risk. I’m so humbled.”
She donned an all-black suit with matching ski glasses during her time there.
