LaKeith Stanfield is starring alongside Mark Wahlberg in an upcoming crime thriller called Play Dirty, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie takes inspiration from Donald E. Westlake‘s Parker novel series, with the first book being 1962’s The Hunter. As per the books’ synopsis, “the novels tell the story of career criminal Parker, a professional robber who specializes in high-profile, large-scale heists.“
Stanfield will play a con artist named Grofield, who acts as the partner to Parker, who is played by Wahlberg. In the film, they must “outsmart a South American dictator, the New York mob, and the world’s richest man if he hopes to stay alive,” the synopsis states.
Play Dirty will be written by Shane Black, Charles Mondry, and Anthony Bagarozzi. Jules Day and Marc Toberoff will be producing it.
