Over the course of Hollywood’s expansive history, moviegoers have been treated to a diverse plethora of films that have come to define the ethos of the film industry as we know it today. From expansive franchises such as Star Wars to cult classics like Donnie Darko and The Big Lebowski, the film industry has evolved at a rapid pace over the past century that has made it home to virtually anything and everything that fans could possibly want. This certainly isn’t going to change anytime soon either as the entertainment industry has entered a modern day renaissance which has witnessed production companies bring new projects to life faster than ever before. A prime example of that is much closer than anybody may have realized however with Lucasfilm unveiling the official trailer for their latest project, a reboot of arguably one of the most iconic film franchises ever in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
Originally debuting in 1981 with Raiders of the Lost Ark, the Indiana Jones franchise is one of the longest running in all of Hollywood. Originally directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Harrison Ford, the franchise took fans into a world of a fiction archaeologist hellbent on discovering the rarest, oldest and most sought-after artifacts on the planet and will go to extreme lengths to acquire them. Four Indiana Jones films premiered in theaters from the span of 1981 to 2008, and now fans are going to be treated to the franchise’s fifth installment in Indiana Jones and the DIal of Destiny. In the first official trailer for the film, reposted below, you can see Indy, once again seeing Ford reprise his role as the iconic actor, as he ventures into an unknown world to once again do what needs to be done. While plot specifics remain unclear, what is clear is that Ford and company expect to pull out all the stops to ensure every last detail of the characters legacy is preserved and fans are provided with something truly special. If you’re a harcore Indiana Jones fan then you’re certainly in luck, however you’ll have to remain patient as Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny isn’t set to hit theaters until June 30tth, 2023.
The Indiana Jones franchise is amongst the most storied franchises in American history. After over four decades, the franchise is live and well with Harriso Ford continuing to reprise his role no matter how many years have passed. It should be interesting to see and die-hard Indiana Jones fans can expect Indiana Jones and the DIal of Destiny to premiere in theaters at the beginning of next summer.
