There has been speculation that certain actors we grew up with and followed are bidding farewell to the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to the end of The Infinity Saga. One person who’s anticipating his character’s departure from the Marvel Universe is Academy Award winner Michael Douglass. The news circulating around Douglass’s departure is unsurprising, considering that he’s been in the film production scene since the 1960s.
During an interview with The View, Michael Douglas spoke with the hosts about wanting his villainous character, Hank Pym, to be killed off in the Ant-Man saga. The actor revealed in the discussion that he proposed to have a serious death with special effects and a memorable ending. However, there’s still uncertainty surrounding Michael Douglass’ time with MCU because it’ll take a certain actor to fill the shoes of Hank. Losing Douglass is in comparison to when Iron Man died in Avengers: End Game.
As the Marvel Universe expands, new heroes and villains arise, which helps younger actors create major storylines for the superhero franchise. There are other villains that can take on the likes of Ant-Man and his heroic friends. But, for now, Marvel enthusiasts will have to wait and see what MCU has up their sleeve.
