The television space has been in a bit of a renaissance over the past decade or so, highlighted by the shift from traditional cable programming to television. With that, we have witnessed a substantial shift in the programming we are accustomed to highlighted by an overabundance of content in the form of sequels, spinoffs, reboots, and so much more. One television series to arise around the beginning of this renaissance was The Walking Dead, a show about a zombie apocalypse that many doomsday preppers would likely argue was foreshadowing the future. While the final season of that series premiered just a few short weeks ago, the trailer for season 7 of the spinoff series Fear the Walking Dead is fresh off the presses for die-hard fans.
First premiering in August of 2015, Fear the Walking Dead began as a prequel series that detailed life in the series at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. While subsequent seasons have run concurrent to the original series, it has provided viewers with a fresh perspective on a series that has already been running for eleven seasons now. The new trailer for season 7 of Fear the Walking Dead is tense to say the least, and it highlights a power struggle between two characters that are bound to be familiar to the series’ most fervent supporters. That standoff seems to be the main point of focus for this upcoming season and should serve as an interesting plot line for fans both old and new. Season 7 of Fear the Walking Dead is set to debut on AMC on October 17th, however eager fans can catch it a week earlier on streaming service AMC+ October 10th.
With everything that has happened over the past year, a zombie apocalypse would appear to be the last of people’s concerns right now. In the early stages, some might have even been inclined to believe that the COVID-19 pandemic would result in a zombie apocalypse. However we now know that is not the case, and that we can leave zombies in Hollywood right where they belong. Zombie aficionados and The Walking Dead fans can tune in for season 7 of Fear the Walking Dead in the coming weeks.
