Esteemed producer Pharrell Williams is making a LEGO movie about his life, and it’s set to debut in the fall.
According to Deadline, the film is called Piece by Piece. Williams also revealed the news about his upcoming film on Instagram alongside a picture of Piece by Piece’s potential artwork. As the caption, he wrote, “Who would’ve thought that playing with Legos as a kid would evolve into a movie about my life? It’s proof that anyone else can do it too.” You can see the post here.
Williams produced Piece by Piece alongside Morgan Neville, Caitrin Rogers, Mimi Valdés, and Shani Saxon. Jill Wilfert and Keith Malone are the movie’s executive producers. Neville directed Piece by Piece as well.
In a press statement, Williams talked about working with Neville, saying:
“When I had this crazy vision to tell this story through LEGO bricks, I couldn’t have imagined a better partner than Morgan. He is a legend.”
The producer continued: “Grateful that Focus wanted to collaborate with us, and I’m honored to share this with the world and bring people into my universe. Building with LEGO bricks encourages us to follow our imagination…who would’ve thought that playing with these toys as a kid would evolve into a movie about my life. It’s proof that anyone else can do it too.”
Piece by Piece debuts in theaters on Oct 11, 2024.
