Along with all the other reveals from Marvel Studios at the 2019 Comic Con, it got even better as the last topics led to the reveal of Mahershala Ali as the new vampire hunter in Blade.
The news of Mahershala Ali as Blade was definitley a shocker as many fans were expecting Wesley Snipes return to the MCU. Snipes played the day-walking vampire in a trilogy of R-rated Blade films from 1998 to 2004. But the new replacement of 2-time Oscar Award winning actor Ali doesn’t seem like a disappointing call for the Blade franchise.
ScreenRant mentioned a noticeable fact about Marvels recent casting choices that we can’t disagree with.
Marvel has been skewing towards leading actors that are already in the limelight, getting Jake Gyllenhaal for Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Homeand Angelina Jolie as Sersi for The Eternals. Ali is somebody whose presence elevates Blade, adding prestige to the project and perking the ears of those who might otherwise disregard it as just another installment of the MCU.

We agree chief! The Blade movie is scheduled for release in 2022.
