Soulja Boy has added New Jersey-based rapper, Skinnyfromthe9 to his roster of artists. His label, Stacks on Deck Entertainment label, primarily known as SODMG, will be the new home for Skinnyfromthe9’s music. This news rose following a video snippet on the emerging rapper’s Instagram page. In the video, he’s given a chain with yellow font attached, which reads, SODMG.
“You know what the f*ck goin’ on, big SODMG sh*t. Welcome Skinnyfromthe9 to SODMG money gang,” says Soulja Boy. After his brief speech, you can see Skinnyfromthe9 with a huge smile on his face. You can view it here.
“SKINNY SODMG,” he wrote in the caption. “yo @souljaboy you really my brother 4 life ima make you proud thank you for the opportunity @sodmgrecordsllc plugged in w the right people @stephenbelafonte1 @_bgbop. @squeezebanzz bro 4 life & free @joshwthe9. @jaylepatron my big bro 4 real we up now.”
Skinnyfromthe9 was previously signed to L.A. Reid’s HITCO label. Recently, he shared a snippet of his song “Sturdy” and asked fans if he should drop it soon.
Soulja Boy has signed many artists to SODMG since its formation in 2004. However, the label took some time off in 2016 when he dropped every artist from it.
“There’s no artist signed to SODMG,” he wrote at the time. “I dropped them all. I’m starting off the roster new and clean for 2016. God is great. So thankful for the blessings. And thanks for blessing me to see the snakes and remove them from my life. Needed that.”
