One photo shows Arthur and Harley gazing intently into each other’s eyes. This duo is unstoppable, always reuniting as they prepare to take on the world together, crafting their love story. The story of “Folie à Deux” revolves around two lovers who first connect while Arthur is a patient at Arkham State Hospital, where he has been confined for two years following the murder of Murray on live TV.
Arthur encounters Harleen Quinzel, also known as Lee, a music therapist who shares his entertaining delusions. As they experience musical madness together, they fall deeply in love, forming a strong partnership. While both characters develop intense feelings for each other, Arthur’s followers conspire to help him escape from Arkham.

Although Arthur Fleck is not the traditional Joker we’re used to, he represents something more. In an interview, director Todd Phillips stated that in “Folie à Deux,” Arthur will not transform into a high-ego villain. Instead, Marvel fans will see a different side of him, that haven’t been shown and highlights the human aspects of his personality and his desire for love. Phillips stated, “We would never make him the Clown Prince of Crime because Arthur is clearly not a criminal mastermind. He was never that”.
