In the legal complaint, the individual known only as “Jane Doe” claims that both Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulted her during a house party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards held in New York City. Initially filed in October in the Southern District of New York, the lawsuit originally named Combs as the sole defendant but was amended on Sunday to include Jay-Z. The attorney representing the accuser, Tony Buzbee, has a history of filing multiple lawsuits against Combs in recent months.
In response to the allegations, Jay-Z took to his company Roc Nation’s X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday to express his outrage. He stated that the lawyer had miscalculated the impact of the allegations, believing they would pressure him into settling. Instead, Jay-Z asserted that the accusations motivated him to publicly reveal the lawyer as a fraud, declaring, “So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”
