This past Thursday, October 1, Travis Scott just released a live debut of his new song, “Franchise”. This live performance was done during his interview on the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, in which he was the main guest and the musical performer for the night.
While Travis Scott’s iconic performance was live, he was assisted virtually by rappers M.I.A. and Young Thug to create a high end, high tech type of show. The show was met with applause and surprise, as Consequence of Sound described the production and quality to be that of an official music video that brought the audience back to music videos of the 90’s. Another unique element of this video is the feature of McDonald’s french fries in multiple scenes. This was done intentionally, as the song was dedicated to McDonald’s, the franchise being referred to in the title. This catchy and fun song was done as a collaboration between Travis Scott and McDonald’s, in a way paying tribute to the fast food chain he used to work at. In fact, just 2 days later, and this fast food themed music video has already gained plenty of attention, so much so that it is a heavily trending TikTok song and there is now also a Travis Scott Meal named after him. The meal has become so popular that many McDonald’s around the US have already run out of patties and other ingredients of the meal. This is not the first time Travis Scott has done collaborations with other brands through his songs, and he has been extremely successful in the past, and this new release only adds to his well deserved success. Check out the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live and the beautiful sensation that is this music video online! Maybe listen to the song on the way to the McDonald’s drive thru, and hopefully the McDonald’s near you still has a few Travis Scott meals available!
