A Tupac docuseries is on the way. The channel, FX, shared a trailer for the upcoming television show. The storyline analyzes Tupac and his mother, Afeni Shakur, ‘s relationship. Titled Dear Mama, the series will carry five parts.
Dear Mama is directed by Allen Hughes ( Menace II Society, Dead Presidents, etc.).
Tupac’s mother says in the trailer:
“It was my responsibility to teach 2Pac how to survive his reality. So, 2Pac, do something wrong, take your little sorry self in that corner, get the New York Times and let’s have a debate about it. Not a discussion, a debate. Let me hear your idea, stand up, defend it.”
FX describes the show as “an intimate wide-angle portrait of the most inspiring and dangerous mother-son duo in American history, whose unified message of freedom, equality, persecution, and justice are more relevant today than ever.”
Tupac, unfortunately, died at the hands of gun violence in 1996. His mother passed away at 69-years-old in 2016.
