Sony Pictures has confirmed that a sequel is in the works
In a recent announcement, executive Steven O’Dell confirmed that an “Uncharted 2” movie is in official development. The film is based on the popular Naughty Dog video game franchise and follows the story of a thief named Nathan Drake. Recruited by treasure hunter Victor Sullivan, they embark on a quest to find a fortune that once belonged to Ferdinand Magellan.

The cast of the movie includes fan favorite Tom Holland, along with Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Banderas, Ali, Tati Gabrielle, and Rudy Pankow. Two years after the release of the popular video game, a new film is currently in development.’s presentation at the CineEurope trade show confirmed this exciting news. During the presentation, O’Dell that a sequel to the “Uncharted” series is in the works.
It has not been confirmed whether Tom Holland, the lead actor, will be returning for the upcoming movie.
Director Reuben Flesher has mentioned that he has conceptualized ideas for a sequel, but due to production reasons, further details were not disclosed. In 2023, creative producer Charles Roven has expressed intentions to move forward with an Uncharted film.
