The Reeve Legacy continues
As you may be aware, Christopher Reeve’s son, Will Reeve, is set to make a cameo appearance as Superman in James Gunn‘s upcoming Superman legacy film. The production is currently underway in Cleveland, with more details yet to be revealed as the project progresses.
According to cleveland.com and ABC News, the movie was reported to have been filmed on Tuesday morning. Will is slated to portray a TV reporter in the film, as reported by Deadline. This role adds a layer of connection to reality, given that he is a journalist for ABC News. Despite being the only child of Christopher and Dana Reeve, he will be playing the youngest of the three siblings in the movie.
Series of Superman ✨ Reeve Legacy
Christopher is renowned for his portrayal of Superman in Richard Donner’s 1978 film Superman: The Movie, which marked the beginning of a cinematic legacy. He donned the iconic cape not only in the first movie but also in its three sequels: Superman II in 1980, Superman III in 1983, and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace in 1987.
Over the years, Gunn has become well for his work on the Guardians the Galaxy franchise Now, he is receiving as he directs a new movie based on his own screenplay, drawing inspiration from characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. This upcoming DC movie is scheduled to be released on July 11, 2025.
Furthermore, in addition to maintaining a strong connection to the Reeves Legacy, the Reeve family has actively engaged by serving on the board of directors for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, a foundation to spinal cord injury research
Casting
The new cast for the upcoming Superman movie includes David Corenswet as Superman, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl. Additionally, Milly Alcock, known for her role in House of the Dragon, will portray Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl.
