Confirmation on what to expect ✨
Vin Diesel’s iconic character, Dominic Toretto, has a rich history with the classic Chevy, having driven it in earlier installments of the Fast & Furious franchise. In his post, Diesel confirmed that the crew on set was busy capturing “practical exteriors,” and he expressed how the stunning visuals evoked “beautiful memories” of the original film, 2001’s The Fast and The Furious.
Part 2 of the missing chapter..
As the final chapter of the Fast & Furious saga, Part 2 picks up right where Fast X left off, following its dramatic cliffhanger that hinted at Dom’s uncertain future and the possibility of more losses within the Fast family, especially after the chaos unleashed by Jason Momoa‘s antagonist, Dante Reyes, in the previous film.
The Fast & Furious films have long captivated audiences, inviting them to set aside their disbelief with increasingly extravagant storylines. However, recent developments suggest a shift back to the franchise’s original focus on street racing, a move that has resonated well with both critics and fans alike. As for Part 2, it is anticipated to operate on a more modest budget compared to Fast X, which had a hefty price tag of $340 million, and will introduce a new villain to the mix.
In a recent update, co-star Jordana Brewster, who portrays Mia Toretto—Dominic’s sister and Brian’s wife—shared some frustrating news regarding the filming schedule. She expressed to Screen Rant that she is still in the dark about any timelines, stating, “I don’t have a timeline.”
Upon its release, Fast X received a variety of reactions, garnering a score of 56% on Rotten Tomatoes. Nevertheless, its impressive global box office earnings of $715 million significantly contributed to the Fast & Furious franchise’s standing as Universal Pictures’ top-grossing series, with total revenues exceeding $7 billion.
In addition to the upcoming Part 2, directed by Louis Leterrier, a spinoff film has also been announced featuring Dwayne Johnson reprising his role as the lawman Luke Hobbs. This spinoff is expected to take place in the timeline between Fast X and Part 2.
