Eddie Murphy is known for being honest, and in a recent interview, he shared what he thinks are his worst movies.
The 64-year-old comedy legend was speaking on Complex’s 360 With Speedy when he was asked to list his four best films. Instead, Murphy said it would be easier to name his four worst.
First on his list was The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002), a sci-fi comedy that cost about $100 million to make but earned only $7 million worldwide, making it one of Hollywood’s biggest flops.

Next was Holy Man (1998), co-starring Jeff Goldblum and Kelly Preston. It cost $60 million but brought in only $12 million and got mostly bad reviews. Murphy also revealed he turned down the lead role in Rush Hour to make Holy Man, calling it a “no-brainer” at the time, though he now admits it was “horrendous.”
The third movie mentioned was Norbit (2007). Although it was profitable, critics disliked it. Murphy played multiple roles, including Norbit and his loud, overbearing wife, Rasputia. He defended the movie, saying he and his brother Charlie wrote it, and that it still makes him laugh, even though it earned him several Razzie “worst” awards.
When it comes to his favorite films, Murphy picked Coming to America, The Nutty Professor, Shrek, and Dreamgirls, with 48 Hrs getting a special shoutout.
Murphy also revealed that he’s only ever auditioned once in his career for Saturday Night Live! in 1980, which launched him to stardom at age 19.
