A new Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie is being made by A24, along with a TV series that was already announced.
The new movie will be directed by Curry Barker and will be a “reimagined” version of the story. Details about how he will portray the killer Leatherface are under wraps.
Several producers are working on the film, and A24 recently won the rights to make both a movie and a TV show based on the franchise.

The TV series is being led by JT Mollner, with Glen Powell as an executive producer.
One of the original creators, Kim Henkel, said A24 was chosen because they like to make bold and different types of films. He also believes the team working on it could create something unique and surprising.
The original 1974 movie, directed by Tobe Hooper, followed a group of young people who are attacked by a masked killer and his family in rural Texas.
Curry Barker first gained attention with a low-budget horror movie on YouTube and later directed Obsession.
