Scoop of the Day
The next film in the Jumanji series now has an official release date. Sony Pictures has scheduled Jumanji 4 to hit theaters on December 11, 2026.
While no title has been announced yet, this marks the fourth installment in the franchise. The series underwent a soft reboot with the launch of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle in 2017, followed by its sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level, which was released in 2019 and featured the original cast returning. Although there have been hints about a potential reunion for another installment, this is the first time a specific release date has been confirmed.
Casting ✨
The casting announcement for Jumanji 4 features Dwayne known as the world’s “The Rock” Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black and Kevin Hart. Although the release date has been confirmed, it’s still uncertain which actors will be included in the cast, though it’s quite likely that all four will come back.
There hasn’t been any information released about the director or the screenwriter yet. Regardless, this news is encouraging for fans of the earlier films who may have lost hope for another sequel.
Previous Films..
Back in 2017 the debut of the Jumanji franchise was revitalized with the release of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, directed by Jake Kasdan. This film became a global success, raking in over $962 million. It introduced a contemporary twist to the original story by converting the game into a video game, leading to a new set of players becoming trapped within it.
Kasdan returned to helm the sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level, in 2019, where the same characters once again found themselves caught in the video game. Although it didn’t quite match the earnings of its predecessor, the film still performed well at the box office, grossing over $801 million.
