During the D23 Expo, creative director James Cameron and stars Zoe Saldaña and Sam Worthington revealed the name for the third Avatar film and more. The forthcoming movie will be titled Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Creative director James Cameron has crafted an incredible vision with the second favorite, Avatar: The Way of Water, and is set to continue the journey with Avatar: Fire & Ash, which will take viewers to Pandora’s more unstable and inhospitable areas. The third film is currently in its post-production phase.
“The new film is not what you expect, but definitely what you want,” Cameron told the crowd during the D23 Expo.
Although he revealed that it was “too soon” to share footage from Avatar: Fire & Ash, he showed the audience its “cool concept art,” which featured the blue-skinned aliens in the sky and surrounded by fire.
While the Avatar franchise initially established its setting in the rainforest and floating mountains of the first movie, the new atmosphere will delve into different perspectives showcased in Avatar: The Way of Water and upcoming installments. In addition to stunning recreations of Pandora’s biomes, a new immersive boat ride will be developed to incorporate guests into the action.
