Diddy is notable for making dope music and has been a constant in some of hip-hop’s greatest moments. The entrepreneur and CEO of Bad Boy is also considering revamping his once popular MTV competition series Making The Band.
If you remember, the show graced us during the early 2000’s and ran 12 seasons long. It also spawned the careers of O-Town, Da Band, Danity Kane and Day 26.
Diddy took to Instagram on Monday (July 8), explaining that MTV asked if he was interested in revamping the classic series.
“Something interesting happened this morning that I need to share with you guys,” Diddy started. “Years ago I did something that will go down in television history. This show called Making the Band. Now, I’m trying to figure out my schedule for the next 24 months…but MTV called me out of nowhere and was like, ‘What do you think about partnering and bringing Making the Band back?'”
He expressed his excitement, however, does not believe in going backwards and repeating himself.
“Something so great, you don’t want to mess with it, you just want to leave it alone,” he said. “Don’t get it twisted, that’s one of the most fun experiences of my life with Making The Band…I feel that’s my calling in the culture, taking young next talent to the next level.”
He later asked his fans to use the hashtag #IWantMyMTB and bombard his social media of reasons why he should revamp the show.
“You thought the cheesecake was something, y’all ain’t seen nothing,” he said, concluding the video.
