Actress Emma Roberts aims for the stars in the first trailer for the upcoming rom-com Space Cadet.
Directed and written by Liz W. Garcia, Space Cadet is a comedy that encourages others to “be themselves, follow their dreams, and shoot for the stars.”
Garcia is known for her work in Netflix’s hit series Purple Hearts and The Sinner.
According to the clip, Space Cadet focuses on Rex, played by Roberts, who aspires to travel to space. But, due to life’s circumstances, Rex becomes a bartender in Florida. With the help of her best friend Nadine, Rex attempts to fabricate her NASA application so she can be in NASA’s competitive astronaut training program. To make it to space without blowing her cover, Rex must use her ambitious spirit and quick wit to achieve in class.
In addition to Roberts, Space Cadet will star Gabrielle Union, Kuhoo Verma, Desi Lydic, Sebastián Yatra, Yasha Jackson, Andrew Call, Troy Iwata, Josephine Huang, Dave Foley, Sam Robards, Joshua Harto, Poppy Liu, and Tom Hopper.
Space Cadet will premiere on Prime Video on July 4.
