Fans are reacting to the ending of the film Twister, where neither character shares a kiss. Despite this, Glen Powell has sparked intrigue among fans, leading to discussions about certain scenes.
In an interview with Screen Rant, there was a conversation regarding Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glenn Powell’s characters in Twister. In the movie, some feelings and romantic tensions have emerged, creating an unaddressed issue between Glen Powell’s character, Tyler, and Daisy Edgar-Jones’ character, Kate. As they embark on a thrilling adventure together to combat a massive tornado, there was supposed to be a kiss between them that ultimately didn’t occur, leading to much speculation about why it was out.
Powell mentioned that he doesn’t take kisses lightly.
“I’m taking it very personally! I’m sure you’ve seen the behind-the-scenes, where I did get to kiss Daisy Edgar-Jones, which really is all that counts. [Laughs] We had a great time, and I’m really proud of the movie,” he expressed.
“I really think that even that [backlash] shows that people care, which is really great. I just love how excited people have gotten about that movie, and Daisy and I send each other the TikToks and the GIFs,” he continued. “There’s so much funny stuff coming out of it. It’s fun. That’s what summer movies are about. It creates this conversation and cultural moment, and people dress up and do the thing. It’s been really awesome. So, kiss or no kiss, everybody’s a winner.”
Creative director Lee Isaac explained why the magical kiss didn’t take place, saying, “I actually filmed the kiss, and it turned out to be quite polarizing — but not due to their performance .”
He continued, “This no-kiss shot was another option I captured that day, and I have to say, I prefer it. I believe it makes for a better ending. For those who were hoping for a kiss, can assume that these characters will eventually share one, and perhaps we should give them some privacy for that moment.”
Although there was no kiss, Edgar described the outcome of Twister as “nice and refreshing.”
