H.E.R used an empty Roxie Theatre in LA as the backdrop for a performance of her brand new single “Damage,” which doubled as the official music video released on Wednesday (October 21st).
The video, directed by Jon Chou, features H.E.R singing “Damage” on Roxie’s Stage accompanied by her bandmates. Her sultry performance of the song makes the already sensual lyrics feel more intimate. She sings, “Holdin’ me tight, lovin’ me right, givin’ me life/ All night you could be (You could be).” The track, produced by Cardiak and Jeffy “Gitty” Gitelman, also features vocals from Ant Clemons who co-wrote the song.
The R&B artist, best known for her single “Best Part” with Daniel Caesar, released this sultry single ahead of her next studio album with MBK Entertainment/RCA Records. H.E.R.’s last album, I Used To Know Her, released in 2019 won her Best R&B Album at the Grammy’s and was also nominated for Album of the Year.
H.E.R. will be performing this Saturday, October 24th on SNL with host Adele.
