Announced on Sunday, November 17, the series will be co-hosted by J. Cole, his longtime manager Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad, and frequent collaborator Scott Lazer. Lazer, known for directing several of Cole’s documentaries, concert films, and music videos like “Kevin’s Heart” and “ATM,” brings his storytelling expertise to the project.
Scott Lazer recalls in a clip:
“What began as a single day of recording quickly turned into two, then three, and eventually eight days. We dove deep into Cole’s career, tracing his journey from his earliest songwriting days to the present. We covered many topics, including his music and personal relationships.”
In this intimate and introspective limited audio series, Jermaine Cole offers an unfiltered exploration of his life, career, and personal growth. Blending released and unreleased tracks, the series weaves a compelling narrative of his evolution as an artist.
According to the synopsis:

J. Cole revealed that the idea for this project emerged in 2022 when he and his collaborators stumbled upon a treasure trove of memories. Ibrahim Hamad discovered an old laptop filled with early demos and unreleased tracks from Cole’s Dreamville catalog. This find sparked a heartfelt conversation, revisiting their shared experiences over the years.
This series promises to provide a deeper understanding of the artistry and resilience behind J. Cole’s remarkable career.
Though typically a private person, Cole admitted he initially hesitated to share such an intimate look at his personal and professional journey.
