In Joe Budden fashion, Joe directly addresses the “Elephant in the room,” following rumors concerning his podcast co-hosts Rory and Mal. The streets are definitely talking! Joe began his 425th episode of The Joe Budden Podcast by stating, “The JBP boys are not here.”
Many fans took to social media platforms to question the absence of Joe’s co-hosts from the previous episode. Joe stated, “Last pod we came in here and I thought I was doing a solid by saying, yo they guys are on vacation.” Apparently, Joe felt the need to come clean and clear the air because of the uncertainty of when his co-hosts will return.
Joe says “I’ll eliminate some suspense, Rory and Mal are not here and whenever they feel like returning to their seats … they’ll return to their seats.” He also directly confirmed that Savon and Ice were doing him a solid favor by filling in for his co-hosts and would not be replacing them.
Joe didn’t directly confirm why his co-hosts were missing but he did reference himself to give his listeners a perspective on a reason why. He used himself as an example, expressing how things exploded when he left Complex. He said amongst issues with Complex he also had pressure on him in his personal life because he was about to have a baby. He expressed that whatever is going on with Rory and Mal, he’s handling it the way he wishes he would have been handled with previous companies. Joe stated,
“Just to give time-time, give everybody time to chill. Get back to their perspective corners and figure out what they want to do and how they want to do it. But, truth be told … I’ve said this in many of Joe versus, none of us are slaves to the audience … none of us owes anybody anything.”
So, although it remains unclear when the co-hosts will return, Joe expressed “It’s not a beef.” There is still light at the end of this podcast tunnel!
