According to Vin Diesel back in April, he said some hints that John Cena would appear in the ninth installation of the Fast and Furious series via Instagram. Universal Pictures confirmed last week that he would definitely be apart of the film.
Cena’s character is being kept a secret. The details are slim to none with us only knowing that whatever his role may be, it is going to be an exciting one. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is allegedly not scheduled to appear in Fast and Furious 9.
Dan Casey is currently working on the screenplay from the story that Justin Lin created. Production is scheduled to begin later this month, with the expectation for a May 2020 release. Diesel sits in the producer’s chair through his One Race Films production company alongside Lin from Perfect Storm Entertainment. Meanwhile, Cena is currently represented by ICM Partners.
