All of Us Strangers actor Andrew Scott has been added to the Knives Out 3 cast, The Hollywood Reporter revealed. Scott is also known for his roles in the Netflix series Ripley, Fleabag, and His Dark Materials, to name a few.
Daniel Craig, Josh O’Connor, and Cailee Spaeny will star in the new film as well. The news comes after Netflix announced the upcoming movie’s official name through a trailer. The clip reveals that it’ll be called Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
Netflix has revealed that Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will take us on a thrilling journey into a new murder mystery set in a location yet to be disclosed. This time, Detective Benoit Blanc, brilliantly portrayed by Daniel Craig, will be pitted against a fresh set of intriguing suspects. The movie is currently in the production phase, as announced by director Rian Johnson on X, formerly known as Twitter, last week.
“We’re about to go into production on the 3rd one, and I’m very excited to share the title, which gives a little hint of where it’s going,” Johnson tweeted.
The first movie, Knives Out, was released in 2019 and earned $310 million at the box office. It starred Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Christopher Plummer. Following its success, Netflix acquired the rights to the Knives Out franchise for more than $450 million.
The second film, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, hit the media streaming platform in 2022 and starred Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson, Craig, and Dave Bautista.
